Rai is a New York-based, women-run production company with a global network, and projects in development from LA to Mumbai.
Rai handles every aspect of the production process, from development to post, with a keen understanding of what connects to audiences today. We specialize in branded content, narrative fiction and non-fiction, music videos, and new media.
We founded Rai because we believe that collaboration makes better work, and our mission is to amplify diverse voices both in front of and behind the camera.
Meet our co-founders:
Iyanah Bativala was raised in Mumbai, India. She received her BA from Cornell University, where she studied Film and English Literature.
In 2019 she was awarded a grant by the Cornell Council for the Arts Individual Grant Panel, in support of her short film, COAST. The film subsequently went on to win Best Short Film at the Tagore International Film Festival. She currently lives and works in Prague.
Council Brandon grew up on the East Coast and is a writer, director, and producer. She graduated from Smith College with a BA in Film Studies. She has directed music videos, fashion videos, short films, and co-produced a narrative and documentary feature. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
Annie Ning is from Suzhou, China and Chicago, IL. Her work as a director, producer & designer spans across narrative fiction, music videos and documentary.
Currently, she helps curate films at the Asian American International Film Festival in NY.
Annie has a BA in Film and English at Wesleyan University, where her thesis film Fishbowl was awarded the Stephen J. Ross Prize for Best Film. She currently lives and works in New York City.
